Hi all,

In order to keep the forum clear, friendly and useful, we invite you to follow these guidelines. They have been made to help you in using the forum.

FIRST STEPS ON THE FORUM:

> Register.
> Before writing, we invite you to have a look at the previous threads to make sure your topic wasn't already covered.
> When starting a new thread, select its title wisely: the clearer it is, the more answers you will receive.
> Ask one question at a time: it would be easier for the other members to answer. Of course, you can post other questions later.
> Do not forget to introduce yourself: it will help to give you a personalized answer and it will be much more pleasant.
> Please respect the topic categories: avoid going off-topic and feel free to create a new thread to talk about a new topic.
> Avoid posting personal details, such as your phone number, email address or Skype contact, on a public forum.
> For any question related to the use of the website or for a technical problem, please use our contact form.

1. General Conduct

Do:

> Treat all members with respect —no insults, tribalism, or hate speech.
> Use Swahili, Lingala, French, kikongo, kituba, Tshiluba, or English (add a translation if possible).
> Keep posts relevant to each forum’s topic (e.g., job posts in Jobs section).

Don’t:

> Post graphic content (violence, pornography) or misinformation.
> Spam (e.g., ads, repeated posts) or scam (e.g., fake rentals, "pay-to-apply" jobs).
> Harass others (Direct Messages without consent = instant ban).

2. Account & Privacy

> > No duplicate accounts
> No impersonation (e.g., pretending to be a community leader).
> Protect privacy: Don’t share others’ phone numbers, addresses, or immigration status without permission.
> Membership is a must to post and communicate on our platform.
> Information security is taken seriously.
> Membership data and information will not be used for commercial or outside of the purpose of geolocation and identification.

3. Content Guidelines

Allowed:

> Jobs/Housing: Must include contact info + details (no vague posts).
> DRC News: Only verified sources (e.g. UN reports).
> Debates: Keep it policy-focused
>Ask questions: Keep it policy-focused

Banned:

> Tribal/regional hate speech (e.g., “[Group] are the problem”).
> Religious fights (e.g., attacking beliefs).
> Illegal advice (e.g., “Overstay your visa this way…”).

4. Moderation & Consequences

Strike System:

1st violation: Warning + post removal.
2nd violation: 7-day ban.
3rd violation: Permanent ban.

Appeals: Email board@forum.cocomnc.com with “APPEAL: [Username]”.
